MARGARITA JANE ARGUEDAS
This site-specific installation using hand-deconstructed fabric in an abandoned property represents implications of lifestyle migration, the abandonment of dreams, and empty promises over expectations of 'paradise.' In response to Directed Research Project during The School for Field Studies study abroad dual summer program at the Center for Tropical Island Biodiversity Studies.
Considering the tensions created between the expectations and reality of 'paradise.' How entitlement comes into play as we continue seeing patterns of postcolonialism in developing countries regarding land ownership, property titles, and who has the rights to them.
